Bulawayo, (New Ziana)-Bulawayo residents should look forward to a memorable weekend as football giants Highlanders (popularly known as Bosso) host a Family Fun Day at the Club House on Saturday, as part of its centenary celebrations, an official has said.

Club president Dumisani Sandi made the announcement during a press conference on Tuesday at the Bulawayo Queens Press Club.

He said the gathering was intended to bring the Bosso family together and celebrate the traditions that have sustained the club over the past century.

“It is a family and a community institution built on a century of unity, pride, and tradition. The Family Fun Day is organised to bring together our members, supporters, partners, and their families to celebrate the culture and heritage that define Amahlolanyama,” he said.

Sandi said the Family and Fun Day forms part of the club’s centenary activities, with the emphasis extending beyond football to the unity, pride and shared heritage associated with Highlanders.

Speaking ta the same occasion, club board chairperson Luke Mnkandla said the event was expected to bring together the Bosso family in a celebration of the 100-year history.

“The day will also feature a Centenary Cake Cutting Ceremony, providing an opportunity to reflect on the generations that have contributed to the growth and legacy of Amahlolanyama. One of the highlights of the day will be our Centenary Cake Cutting Ceremony, a symbolic moment as we celebrate 100 years of Highlanders Football Club,” he said.
