Bulawayo City ruined what could have been a spectacular and memorable finale to the 2026 Pacific Breeze Southern Region Division One season for Champions Hwange FC.

Chipangano fans came out in numbers to support their favourite team with Morestuff Ncube breaking the deadlock inside the first half taking his goal tally to 16 leaving the race for golden boot wide open.

Hwange had most of the possession with the coach introducing some young talent which played entertaining football sending a chilling warning to Premier league teams.

However towards the end of the match, Bulawayo City equalised through a thunder bolt that dampened the Chipangano cheering fans’ spirit.

Despite the draw, Hwange were crowned champions last week. Yesterday they confirmed that they will be putting their celebrations on ice to a later date.

“Please be advised that the crowning ceremony for our Southern Region Soccer League Champions, Hwange FC, has been postponed to 14 November 2026, we encourage all our supporters to come out in numbers,” said in a statement.

The goal by Morestuff Ncube against Bulawayo City means that he is now level on the top goal scorers chart with Gabriel Rugoho of Talen Vision, at16 goals.

Last reason the golden boot was also decided on the last day of the league with both front runners Tino Chitete of Nkayi United and Saiti of Bulawayo Chiefs losing out on what they had chased throughout the season.

The golden boot was eventually snatched by Meceline Mlilo who bagged a hat trick when Hwange ran riot at the Colliery stadium crushing neighbours Vic Falls Herentals.

Elsewhere runners up Talen Vision received yet another shock defeat, ending the season trailing by seven points from leaders Hwange with Jordan being comfirmed as the third runners up.
